Young Enterprise North East is continuing to make a difference to the current life and future potential of the young people we support – but to ensure that as many young people as possible benefit from the interactive enterprise experience offered through our range of programmes, we need your help.
If you are a business…
The active involvement of business volunteers in our programmes makes a real difference to the current life and future potential of the students they support.
As well as encouraging personal development, the contribution of the volunteer also has a positive impact on the local economy and employment, by contributing to the creation of a more motivated, educated and enterprising workforce for the north east.
Help students see business come to life by providing a practical example of business in action and promoting understanding of different elements of the business world.
Broaden your business and management skills, in particular communication, interpersonal and team working skills.
Gain access to free training and the opportunity to put these skills into practice in a real life learning environment – some of your experiences could contribute to the qualification requirements of the professional bodies. Eg CIM, ICA, CIMA.
Profile your organisation as an employer of choice to your future workforce and leaders of tomorrow.
Develop your presentation skills and self confidence by dealing directly with young people.
Challenge the entrepreneurs of tomorrow, inspiring them to consider business creation as a future career option.
Demonstrate to your company’s stakeholders or shareholders a positive contribution to the local community
Highlight your organisation’s commitment to corporate social responsibility.
Improve your own company training programmes through a better understanding of how young people learn.
If you are a teacher…
The introduction of five days of enterprise activity at Key Stage 4 into the curriculum brings a fresh challenge for teachers: to provide all young people with the sort of enterprise skills that will enable them to hit the ground running when they enter the world of work.
Our range of programmes offer students a hands on enterprise experience, and the involvement of business volunteers means there are many opportunities to give practical meaning to the enterprise curriculum.
Our well established proven portfolio of programmes makes us a market leader in the sector.
Our programmes are delivered or facilitated by a local volunteer - training and programme materials are provided by us.
Our programmes are mapped in the National Qualifications Framework and can contribute towards curriculum enterprise requirements.
Our ‘learning by doing’ approach allows young people to explore which aspects of business they particularly enjoy, and which they’re not so keen on.
We have programmes for students aged 4-25+, so there is something for everyone – regardless of age, background or ability.
If you are a student…
If you’d like to have the opportunity to try out running your own small company, develop the skills you’ll need when going to job interviews or applying for university or college, look no further!
We are able to offer all this and more through our programmes.
You might even have the chance to make some money and gain national accreditation for your work too!
Our programmes offer the opportunity to learn about business in a practical way.
‘Learning by doing’ is a key feature of our work and we believe students should have the opportunity to develop and explore their thoughts and attitudes towards business before they leave education.
