Our History

Young Enterprise UK grew out of the American enterprise group Junior Achievement.

This organisation has been at the forefront of business education for nearly a hundred years.

YENE is part of YENE UK has been delivering enterprise education in the North East for over 25 years.

We are now a part of an international organisation that delivers programmes across the globe.

One of our global sister organisations in Paraguay was recently awarded over $500,000 by The Skoll Foundation for their work building the entrepreneurial skills of over 50,000 young people from rural areas

We now work with thousands of students and hundreds of schools across the region.

We deliver our programmes by enlisting the support and active involvement of businesses and volunteers.

Our Network

Our network of contacts in the business and education sectors enables us to bring practical life experience into the education system.

This creates enthusiasm and energy amongst students and develops their natural confidence around learning by doing.

We work with large, established organisations such as Dickinson Dees and Northern Rock Foundation who help us design and deliver our programmes.

We also work with new, emerging companies such as MobilX and Madventurer.

This approach allows young people access to positive, successful role models from all sectors of the business community.
